OLED screens — safe to leave on?

Just wondering if it’s safe to leave the Hapax on and idle for an extended period of time. I know some OLED screens suffer from burn in… do we need a screensaver? :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Asked this before and it doesn’t seem first on their list if you understand so I wouldn’t worry.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but word to the wise: Use the screensaver feature, y’all.

I’ve used my Hapax relatively little, and I’ve always had the screensaver turned off prior to now. I may have left the device on overnight in this no-screensaver state, but not as much as a full day or anything like that. But, this pattern may have happened a fair few times. I definitely didn’t leave it on all the time, as a rule, but I wasn’t especially conscious about when or for how long I left it on, idling.

I now very definitely have screen burn in on both the left and right displays. It is mostly visible at the top left of both displays, where the header with the white background and knocked-out text is, especially on the right screen. On the left screen that’s the worst area, but there is noticeable burn-in all over. And, while it doesn’t majorly interfere with legibility, it is easily noticeable.

Bummer. Don’t be like me :upside_down_face:
