Interesting pairings - what are you using?

Hi,

I have spent the day finding MIDI cables to connect:

Waldorf Quantum
Moog Voyager
Mellotron M400D
Perkons 01
Korg 700FS

I’m still learning the basics, but I think this is such a wonderful, flexible tool….

For Sale Polyend SEQ -

Regards.

As you see the HAPAX is in the center of the setup so I’m not a musician and more of a coder.

Putting the Squarp Hapax right at the center is exactly what my coder-mind does:

Im basically giving Reaper a play command using one of many macro pads i have set up to do so,

then i send an audio pulse waveform from my es8 or expander 64 times a measure to Hapax as cv clock. this goes in the cv in 1 and clocks Hapax which is also set to the same tempo as Reaper. then i send midi clock, note and automation commands from Hapax to my MPC1000, PreenFM2,

Anyma Phi,

and also to many plugins running in Reaper like Serum2, ShortCircuit XT, Anyma V, and any automation i want Reaper to do since anything is assignable.

i also mix everything created by any hardware in an audio track in Reaper alongside my plugins. If I need to adjust compensation for latency, I can do it on the Hapax. I incorporate my modular system in many ways

but one is to issue cv from Hapax or from software like cardinal and pump it out of my ES8 or expander. My modular stuff is mostly to add color or real filters in any way i want. my software does a hell of a lot so sometimes my modules dont get used haha! BTW Reaper runs on my goofy euro computer modules

that are also the target of my goofy macro pad modules, which also act as a track pad if you want, while cooled by my sleek extremely sexy 2HP exhaust fan modules which piggyback off of my goofy euro computer modules!

Syncing Hapax this way affords you tight sync with Reaper while still controlling anything you have with a view to recording midi or audio at any time that doesnt need to be lined up later on. Sometimes i de-couple Hapax from cv clock and just record audio. i can get deep into my mpc, controlling its sampler from Hapax on a deep level, multitibrally. my attention moves around and doesnt always involve everything at once! Hapax makes everything better than it was when you walked up with it in your loving hands!

Oh i forgot to mention, im also using DirtyWave M8 as a pure midi only target with hapax.

im not using its internal sequencer. Hapax has plenty to work from! And I host M8 from my goofy computer modules and send key commands from my goofy macro pad as well! Im loving my setup now more than ever before in fact.

Theres also an og op-six floating around the mix. And some classic rack samplers that im feeling not so much attachment to these days. Sampling is almost everywhere and really depends on how you use it. I am just as excited about samples in the M8 as I am in my mpc1000 or e4xt ultra or s700 or short circuit or short circuit XT etc.

oh and my trusty rk006 on midi duty and so tiny! 3.5mm tho.
