[Feature Request] MIDI merge and pre-filter operations

I request the addition of MIDI merge and pre-filter operations which could selectively join several MIDI inputs to function as the input to a single track. This could be enabled at the track level or within a settings sub-menu and could combine well with virtual MIDI buses (see other feature request). Filter and merge operations could include “Input A, Input B, or Both” options for user-defined or pre-defined ranges of notes, CCs, PC, sync, etc.

The filtering and merging of MIDI inputs would allow for several hardware controllers to be used to control a single track. It would also allow the creation of creatively linked keysplits, such as using left hand on one keyboard to transpose a melody played/recorded from another, while that same left hand is also controlling a bass track.

I request the addition of several virtual MIDI buses which could be selected as the input of a track, output of a track, or output of an Output effect. These buses could be labeled V1, V2, V3, etc. The buses would be accessible from both projects and their behavior would be identical to physical MIDI IO except there would be no hardware settings relating to sync, compensation, metronome, etc. The existence of these virtual buses would allow for loopback tricks without consuming physical IO. Ha, just responded to your other thread that you can do this with the U6MIDI Pro. Can connect 3 MIDI ins and then connect the USB to the Hapax. It works pretty well in my experience.

Not to say I don’t agree this would be nice, but instead of waiting for it you can spend a relatively small amount of money and have the functionality now.
