Befaco Midi Thing V2 will get you 12 configurable outputs.
If you need ALL the outputs, the NerdSeq can map MIDI to at least 69 outputs if you have enough Trigger and/or CV expansions and you can justify buying a sequencer for your sequencer
What has been your experience with connecting the two? Is there inter-operability? Do they play well? Are you able to sequence primarily via Hapax or do you sequence with the H+?
Sorry for the barrage of questions, this was one of my initial thoughts to get H+ and 32, but I’m second guessing it if the Hapax didn’t remain the sole sequencer…
Yea everything is sequenced from the Hapax and it’s perfect.
Clock, notes etc all going over USB host seamlessly /w no latency.
It’s nice to have the option of sequencing on the Hermod+ for different uses and also having all the effects alongside those on the Hapax.
LFO on the Hapax to velocity from a Hermod+/XP32 output works great for example though i’m sure can just do that with CC to an output too just not tried that.
I just have a default template always loaded on the Hermod+ with all the outputs setup.
It’s especially good for the fake poly CV sorta stuff from the Hermod+ i’m doing with the 2600M for example as I find it difficult programming chords on the Hermod+ by itself.
Could you explain how you have set the Hapax and Hermod+ for this? I am planning to do exactly what you’re doing but I’m not entirely sure how to configure everything so it works smoothly. It would be great to hear how you do it since you’ve got it working well.
I can’t remember off the top of my head and I don’t have them in front of me.
You just make a project on the Hermod+ and set the track inputs as USB device Ch. 1, 2, etc then on the Hapax you set a channel as USB host and choose whatever channel you need.
I rarely have to save a unique version of the Hermod+ project as everything is on the Hapax so this is just the default that auto loads that I use for everything.
