Why are there four MULTITRACK banks: a,b,c,d in the OMNI MODE setting?

why are there four MULTITRACK banks: a,b,c,d in the OMNI MODE setting?

16 channels in MIDI
4 banks in Pyramid

If youre sending in data on Ch09 and the protocol is that the data will head to Track 9, somewhere there has to be an indication of which bank. (See also: 16 MIDI Channels, but 64 possible destination Tracks)

ah ok that makes sense if I want the midi events directed to a specific track…

I originally just wanted the incoming midi events pass thru the pyramid (to the synth) on the channel they were sent. So I guess OMNI MODE is not the setting to achieve this?

I dont use this feature (yet), so i cant help you on that. Good luck!

Actually, a quick look at the manual id say a work around would be to set Omni: Ch x where x=a channel you wouldnt send data Thru.

The manual notes that all other incoming data is routed to output A.

Other than that, you are putting data IN to the Pyramid that is destined for…not Pyramid, so it’s not a process id normally do.

Oh, check MIDI Mode. There are Out & Thru options there that might apply to your situation

thanks, I realized I probably have to address the midi destination on the pyramid instead of the midi keyboard, so I’ll just send everything to the pyramid thru ch1 and reroute it to the synth to the desired channel based on pyramid track setting
