What does C 44 do?

Hello,

Capacitor C44 just fell off my hermod… (the big one)
I managed to solder it back on – but now I am a bit afraid of powering on :))
What does C44 do? is it something that might potentially kill my hermod?

Hi @nemoy,

C44 is meant to store some power to be used when plugging in power-hungry USB devices in the USB Host port of Hermod.

It should be perfectly safe to use Hermod without it, however it is obviously not recommended, as it can cause issues. If you managed to solder it back on, you should be good.
