are you ever using your hapax and think to yourself golly this thing im achieving with my hapax is way cool and advanced. i love it!
ill start: im using hapax to send note and animation commands to my gaggle of synths on my desktop in front of me, and they are all set up with the separate din outs etc. and then for each track i have an ‘output fx’ sending the midi also to the usb device output with separate channels. this way i can record everything im doing into my daw on a separate track while im performing! this is so convenient, and im glad its midi instead of audio, because then i will use my launchpad pro to actually arrange midi to lives song sequencer with all the character and automation created in the hapax. its a next level way to work if you ask me.
ill go again: im in love with the mixmute screen and in particular, the green rows. they are the momentary mute/unmute. so if the tracks mute is on, momentary will unmute it and vise versa. this allows creative edits in realtime to multiple sequences, making for potential contrasting and expressive outcomes! i have some ideas for these functions,
allow momentary switching to be recorded as an event somehow, that can also be edited
make them able to respond to midi input so they can be invoked from outside the hapax
allow track ‘grouping’ for mute, solo and momentary buttons
this mode is great for drums or basslines and im sure more i havent tried it with! definitely one of my favorite ways to interact with this machine.
Probably at close to the end of my honeymoon, but I really like the power of the “All” button, and the ability to select an area of notes with the 2nd key. Very intuitive, and makes it quick and easy to clear out notes, or change a bunch of notes parameters quickly.
