USB hub for Hapax

Has anyone tried a working usb hub that connects to the usb host post?

USB hubs are currently not supported.
That’s something I hope to have time to work on in the coming months.

I tried it with an elektron overhub, hapax sees that it is connected but does not work with it

Thanks for the reply. And keep up the great work

Hello! Any word on if we should be hopeful for this feature in the near future or no?

i would guess no

For anyone looking for a potential solution, I came up with an interesting workaround, which is perfect for me but maybe not everyone.

I have a CME U6MIDI Pro, I’ve plugged my 3 MIDI controllers into the inputs and connected it to the Hapax over USB. It can be configured to filter different MIDI messages in different ways. Ultimately I was able to make my relatively complicated setup work exactly the way I wanted.

The reason this is useful is that I can then setup a Hapax track to listen on a specific channel on the USB host, and I can switch channels on my MIDI controllers, allowing any of the controllers to record to any of the tracks. And this works with multitrack recording because the channel is specified on the track. This setup also let me do complicated routing of the MIDI clock so that all the devices are synced.

So like I said this probably isn’t a solution for everyone, I get that this thread is more about connecting multiple devices over USB, but if you can use MIDI instead you can still go through the USB host this way and there are advantages to doing it.

I was about to reply and suggest the same thing.

CME U6 MIDI Pro is the answer!

So far this is the only solution to work for me.

The downside - you have use actual midi cables vs usb midi.
This is only a downside if you were trying to avoid midi cables and only wanted to use usb.

But this gives you 3 extra Midi IN ports - Which is pretty nice.
