Trying to sync my M8 Model 02 with Hapax 0S 3.00

I’m trying to connect my M8 Model:02 directly to Hapax’s USB-A HOST port. I’m running M8 firmware 6.6.3D and Hapax OS 3.00.

The same cable works for M8 USB MIDI on my Mac, and Hapax immediately recognizes my Launchkey. However, Hapax doesn’t recognize M8. MIDI start/stop works through my Digitone II’s MIDI THRU port.

Has anyone gotten this direct USB connection working? Are there specific settings I’m missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

im on headless and m8 ios so i dont know much about that but i love sending midi to m8 without syncing them. i do have them set to the same tempo however! i find hapax automation and midi fx on top of m8 lfos and other modulation is quite enough to work from!. and pairing that with the m8 instrument pool reaches a bliss point pretty easy! and im not even using the m8 sequencer! m8 is a great midi target.
