what about a HAPAX derivative, that only is used to send LFOs ENVs and midi fx to other gear, but has no sequencer part but instead of the button matrix a touch screen to draw in LFO waves shapes etc?
It could
- have 8 cv ins and also 8 trs midi outs (switchable A/B) and 8 cv outs
- 8 trs outs would mean fast workflow, no hassle with midi through etc, just plugin another hardware synth
- store CC profiles like HAPAX
- on each channel you could have multiple advanced LFOs and ENVs
- also include lots of midi fx
- it could also be used to trigger eurorack filters for ELEKTRON gear with ENVs etc
I am still not sure, where midi merging would have to be done if needed, in this box (then it also needs midi inputs) or externally in an MRCC or similar
what do you think?
