I was about to get a ableton link device from circuit happy but just remember hapax has a sync input!
I have never setup this, sending a transient 64th on beat and send it from a dedicated channel from my soundcard.
So can any soundfile due?
This should be as tight as its get if it works. Ableton link is really tight also but it saves me a chunk of money. I tried using ordenary midi clock once back in the days but .. well it wasent tight 
So im readin the manual and its a bit cryptic.
My guess is to set up a 4\4 64th transient sound (like the trig sound in old drummachines i guess) i will set the ppq in hapax to 48. Just because i read somewhere it works fine.
I might set up another audiotrack in the daw im using playing a 4\4 bassdrum and have hapax play a 4/4 bassdrum. And just tweak until its sounds on perfect beat.
