Settings: Transpose Note using Definition File?

Okay, sorry.
I’m missing something about Definition Files.

On Settings -> MIDI In -> Transpose Note, my options are limited to those that are part of one of my Definition Files.

Might seem like a minor thing, except it’s using my drum map Definition File and my drums tend to be chromatic, so there’s 11 Notes marked “KICK”. LOL

So, on MISC I have Load Definition: Filter CC+Note
I’m terribly confused, because for the Tracks I have Definition Files for, I’d definitely like those Filtered. Except the Transpose Note…shouldn’t be following a Definition File…? Whut?

Ugh. Sorry.
Anyone have an explanation what I’m doing wrong?
Please type slowly because I’m an idiot.

Example of def. file notes:

N39:SN2
N41:TOM1
N42:CON1
N43:TOM2
N44:CON2
N45:TOM3
N46:CON3

Thank you.

Now go to Settings -> MIDI In -> Transpose Note

On your device, do the options for the Transpose Note appear as Kk1, SN1, Kk2, etc?

Ah, seems like something’s corrupted.

Weird stuff:

  • Tried a dummy Definition File with same Channel & Output (Ch01/DIN A), deleting the original: did not take on those values in the Transpose Note Setting
  • Reinstalled the original Definition File: won’t recognise it
  • Will recognise others

EDIT: Nope, that was my bad. In my tests I had set a different Definition File to the MIDI Channel in Question (Port DIN A/Ch01). Once that was corrected, back to original behaviour.

Only works with this one Definition file, which carries such possibly salient characteristics as:

  • Port DIN A
  • Channel 1
  • Contains CC and Note definitions

Filter CC + Note is selected.

Anyone with any advice on where my error/misunderstanding might be?

Note, here’s the definition file.
It’s specific to my use case, as it’s an Emu Orbit linked patch with my ‘basic’ drum kit just so I don’t have to reference Note #'s.

Ah, it didn’t work this way before when I tested, but here’s the gig:

It seems that a Definition File that incorporates Notes that is set to DIN A & Channel 1 will insert Note Definitions into the Transpose Note options on the MIDI In Settings, but does not filter.

This is not what I expected.
Is this what you’d expect?
