Reset ASSIGN values to DEFAULT

I guess I still don’t understand something.
I thought the DEFAULT parameter in the Instrument Definitions files sets the value that appears if an ASSIGN knob is long pressed?

But it seems that…

[ASSIGN]
cc:1 DEFAULT=64 param
[/ASSIGN]

the value 64 is only set when loading the Instrument Definitions file and …

[CC]
1 DEFAULT=64 parameters
[/CC]

is not considered at all?

Long pressing an ASSIGN control always sets the value to 0!
Am I missing something?

Thank you so much for starting this topic. I’ve been meaning to write down my expectations v reality regarding all instances of default values for a while now.

And I agree, I would expect a reset to the default value as defined in the loaded file as well.

Ok, if not for that, do You know what is the DEFAULT parameter for?
