I was just thinking about controlling a DAW in Ableton with Hapax, so thank you for the extra tip. Of course, my instruments have a MIDI in and out, but I wasn’t aware that I will now need two sets of MIDI cables for each instrument to fluently record them into a seamless setup (no cable changing), as you know the hapax only has 3 midi din ports so eventually I will need two MIDI spliter units to cover both IN and OUt for all of the instruments which is a bummer cause they ain’t cheap again thank you for your solution I suppose once I finish recording all the banks I should move to OUT and just get a midi keyboard if I want to record notes should do it
you bought a $1200 sequencer but cables are too expensive? i have had a pile of midi cables around since the mid 90s i guess.
MIDI is, by design, one-directional. Just like audio inputs and outputs. An audio output does not magically turn into an input, and MIDI is exactly the same.
MIDI over USB is an exception to this.
The cables are not the problem, the Midi quadra trough was just 50 euros last year for a two-way splitter, now it’s 80 euros, and in my country, the price is higher by 20% for all electronics, and this is just a regular splitter
take a holiday?
what country if you dont mind me asking
No, I don’t mind. I’m from Serbia, got my Hapax from Germany xd
well! excellent choice in sequencers!
can anyone send a gift to you without you paying a ridiculous fee? if you want me to do that for you, just pay for the item and shipping. but maybe thats prohibitive too?
no not at all I will gladly pay for the vat and taxes, but I must admit I am speechless by your gesture, I can’t describe how much it would mean to me since I am a English teacher currenty out of work, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for even offering such a thing..
oh its cool! it wont be that big of a deal and i like helping people with their art. i mean if we arent evil people, we need to stick together. you cant properly experience hapax or cv stuff without the proper cables.
Oh shucks, man, again, I can’t describe how grateful I am to you!
I’ll message you in private with the details
