Record function midi control or multiple pedals

I’m using a pedal /w the pedal input on the Hapax at my desk, but would like a remote switch over by my keyboards.

I have a midi footswitch here, is there any way to map it to turn on the record function?

OR

is it possible to put a splitter on the pedal input and use two pedals with one doing rec on the ring and the other the tip?

There is currently no MIDI control of the record function, but your idea to split the footswitch is good. With a TS-to-dual-TSF Y cable (e.g. Hosa YPP-111) it’s not required to put one each on tip or ring, they can both be tip. If either pedal shorts tip to ring, the recording would start. Alternatively you could get an insert-style Dual-TSF-to-TRS adapter which would let you have two different functions across the pedals.
