Record automation to mod 2, 3 or 4 -from midi cc-

Hello!
I see a related topic about recording from CV, double checking to see if it’s different for Midi…
I can successfully set the Input Midi Mod to any incoming midi CC (for example, cc90)

But when attempting to record modulation, it will only ever record automation to Mod 1.
Is there anyway to record modulation to Mod 2, mod 3 or mod 4 from an incoming midi signal?
