Rample crackling - need card reader advice

I just got a lightly used Rample and am hearing crackles, mostly when playing more than 2 voices. I have read here that I probably need to reformat the card and reload the samples.

My Macbook Air (M1) doesn’t have any ports except usb. Can anyone recommend a specific micro SD card reader that plugs in and will reliably work to read and format the card?

I’m also wondering about what the red dot in the corner signifies. CPU overload?

Replying to my own topic, I got rid of the crackles with a reformat/reload.

I picked up a reader locally and everything went smoothly. Now to try baking my own samples.
