Rample as "4-track brain"

Hi all! I’m looking into getting a Rample to fill a specific need, and want to confirm some functionality before I make the buy.

I currently use a 4-track tape machine for rhythmically synced loops that I fade in and out, switching tapes for different songs, and playing the fine pitch wheel, and double speed switch dynamically. I’d love a more reliable & more future proof digital solution for this (gotta love 4-track reliability) and the Rample seems like it’ll do the job!

Non-negotiables

  • 4 tracks of mono playback, all perfectly synced from the start

  • Ability for “coarse” varispeed the samples down to 0.5 speed/pitch together, preferably with a tape “bend down” effect. (Probably with external slew limiter)

  • Ability for “fine” varispeed control of ±2 using an external offset knob (probably will accomplish both pitch controls with stacked cables)

Obviously the Rample has way more tricks up its sleeve than just this, but wanna make sure its covering the basics for me.

Thanks y’all!
