I could use your help! CC information is quit new for me.
I’m thinking to buy a Hapax (for midi sequencing, controlling cc’s and to use is as master) and use my faderfox PC12 (for controlling cc/external parameters) as the two main controllers for my excisting studio (Mostly Elektron Gear, drumpcomputers, FX’s, samplers and synths).
The main goal is to control as much of the studio via the Faderfox and the Hapax.
Don’t know if its possible to combine 1, 2 and 3, or if there are better ideas. This was the routing I came up with:
- Faderfox PC12 → Hapax → Midi/Usb hub → Studio
- Midi keyboard → midi cable → Hapax
- Faderfox → thru Hapax or usb hub (but that would be 2 usb’s ports because of #1) → Studio (to control parameters directly on other gear)
Some rules I would like to apply:
- Usb routing if possible
- Midi din pin routing if necessary
- Control as much parameters/functions in my studio via the faderfox and the Hapax
- For routing lots of Midi din pins I own a MRCC from Conductive Labs
- I don’t own a 20+ ports USB hub for this type of routing, do you have any suggestions?
I also have some questions about the technical feasibility:
- Is it possible to record live knob twists from the faderfox into the Hapax?
- Can I control so many gear over usb/midi from Hapax to my studio (all midi information and cc)?
- Can I control so many gear with a faderfox via an usb midi hub?
- Any gear that I also need to do the above? Or perhaps gear based on your other suggestions for routing/settings?
- Perhaps any other suggestions about routing or other tips or information in general?
