My Pyramid is sending out pitch modulation and I am looking for ways to make it stop. If I bypass the unit, the receiving units play patches normally, but as soon as I route MIDI through the Pyramid, I get this warbling sound to which I’m becoming rather averse.
Any ideas?
have a look at the midi output thru the midi monitor …
also look for pitchbend messages (obviously )
(… I once had a fault PB wheel on my Virus, which caused something similar)
look for anything odd like duplicate message (e.g. midi feedback)
I kind of remember once having something similar to this… and it turned out to be midi feedback, basically the synth in question, was getting a ton of duplicate cc messages and just couldn’t keep up.
once I sorted out the midi routing it was all good.
it was a long time ago… so hard to remember details.
note: the pyramid does have a feature for echo cancelation… but I personally wouldn’t never rely on this. always fix at ‘source’ by using local echo = off on your synth.
anyways, great thing with pyramid is its just midi , so if you look at the midi messages… you’ll soon find out what the issue is in your setup.
