Potential Customer, Encoder Question

Hello! I am interested in purchasing a Hermod. A friend of mine said they needed to send theirs back to Squarp so they could replace the encoder. I’ve read elsewhere that there may have been a problem in the past with the encoders on these but that it has since been resolved on newer units, is this correct? Thank you!

Indeed, we have had one batch that suffered from quickly failing encoders, which was due to an unfortunate miscalibration of one of the soldering machines on the assembly line. We tried our best to react as quickly and effectively as possible, and we were lucky to have had very understanding customers.

Thankfully it has been resolved for a while now, and we improved our QC process to avoid similar unpleasant surprises in the future.

TL;DR: it’s been resolved.
