Pattern synchronization

Not sure which setting pertains to this but nothing I’ve tried seems to help. When I manually change a pattern, even though they all share the same length settings, it never seems to change in a way that is in sync with the other patterns playing. I have the “Sync” set to 4 bar in all patterns but, instead of it waiting until the “turn around” to happen, it seems to wait 4 bars after I triggered the pattern change. I assumed that the 4 bar setting was the interval that they sync with.
What am I doing wrong? I can’t seem to make it work the way I want (like Elektron gear)/
Anybody?

If all patterns share the same length, you could just set sync = ptrn, to launch the next pattern at the end of the current one.

That definitely helped but, when I touch a pad to switch patterns, it waits until it cycles to the end of the current pattern and, instead of switching then, it waits until a few beats later to switch - throwing everything off.

Hold a pattern down and make it stop or any of the other follow functions that instruct a pattern what to do after so many times playing through

Figured it out. Turns out that a track with time elasticity turned on still adheres to the original BPM when switching patterns, which seems…useless unless you are not switching patterns and just trying to “out-Reich” Reich.

Ahhh. Good to know. You can still get the follow functions to change at odd times that might align w your elastically altered pattern
