Pad sensitivity vs Push/Force/Deluge

Hi!

New Hapax owner here. I have tons of questions and have already had a few crashes that I’ll submit, but the thing that surprised me right away was the pads.

I expected them to feel and play similar to Ableton Push 2 or Akai Force pads, which responded to touch without a lot of pressure. But the pads on my Hapax require an actual ‘push’ like a button. It’s not a lot, but it makes a big difference in playability versus the other devices.

I’m wondering if this is the same experience everyone has had. Anyone else have experience with the other devices that can compare?

The feel of the pads are my biggest complaint, both playing live and adding steps. But it’s not terrible / dealbreaker.

As you mention they also need a good bit of force which is especially apparent when entering steps - it’s easy to trigger the hold step state rather than just adding a step
