Haven’t seen anybody address this clearly and it’s kind of wild cause I know it’s capable. If it’s been explained then kindly point me in that direction please.
How do I get my sustained note at the end of a pattern (1) to keep playing into the next pattern (2) without it being abruptly cut off?
Sync settings in pattern mode don’t fix it. And follow conditions don’t fix it either. I’ve been stuck trying to figure this out for nearly 2 weeks and have finally resorted to the community.
Any help is appreciated!
this is a MIDI sequencer issue generally not specific to Hapax. if it’s a sample, you can always set it to “one shot” so that merely triggering the note will cause it to sustain over the pattern change. if it’s a synth patch, the usual fix is opening up the sustain, though that may not be how you want the patch to play generally when patterns aren’t changing

Yeah I’m beginning to realize it’s not just Hapax that has this issue!
If only there was a “one shot” mode for notes being played via synth.. I thought there was one but clearly I’m mistaken.
Changing the patch to have open sustain isn’t desirable but maybe I can automate the last note to it and see if it still cuts off…
i had a similar issue with sequencing vocal tracks where a phrase might start on the 4 beat of the pattern immediately before. one possible trick is creating a separate 1-bar pattern that has the note sustain that you need and sandwiching it between two 3-bar patterns when you’re creating the Song chain. (having to resort to these workarounds is also why i eventually switched to Deluge for the linear arrangement)

Word. I still believe there has to be an easier way but I’m gonna try your suggestion as well and who knows, maybe I’ll get used to it.
Thanks!
