Current goal is to control my digitakt with both the Hapax and and external midi controller.
Hapax ModMatrix and I/O midi routing per channel makes it very intuitive to control parameters of a device from an external midi controller. The only issue is that the ModMatrix only allows four midi messages to be translated, in addition you can only have one ModMatrix loaded per channel. Limiting the number of translated messages to four per track.
Is there any chance this feature will be expanded upon in further updates? Allowing for a higher number of midi messages to be translated. Or does anyone know of a way to work around this? I was hoping to avoid using a dedicated midi translator to achieve this because the capability is already built into the Hapax and its very easy to work with.
why not use an iconnectivity or midisolutions filter? they both work super well and are small and capable. midisolutions are powered by midi but truthfully only handle a single parameter at a time. theres also blokas midihub. that one might be the best one actually.
If you want to do it just in the Hapax, you should be able to use another track for CC stuff you want to send. So you could have 4 translated messages per track.
The issue with the CME’s is they only allow for 16 messages to be translated. This requires you to get created with you programming and the two devices I am trying to translate messages between are both not very flexible with remapping midi messages so the 16 command translation limit runs out fast.
