Looks like a very nice midi controller for the price - I’m imagining it would be considered one device and therefore 16 midi channels
How would this be useful in a hardware setup with hapax? It wont magically figure out the knob positions on your hardware synths and then motorise the knobs to reflect that
Seems tedious to me. And just 8 knobs (exactly what the hapax provides as well)
Maybe I’m missing something?
I’m considering it for use with an Elektron DT2 or DN2 - controlling some of the deeper parameters. Haven’t used the Assign function of Hapax that much but I’m using it for live performance instead of studio controller. Only 8 knobs is def my hesitation as paging thru stuff can be cumbersome
I’m currently preparing a live set with the hapax (first time I would actually use it live) and I assigned some parameters of synths to the 8 knobs (through instrument definition file), I think it will work really well during a live performance. I don’t know how much instrument definitions you can have (in case you want different assigns per track of your performance), but I surely think it’s very workable as the controls are readily available when performing
