I am not sure what setting I accidentally may have turned on, but when I set up my tracks for a performance, I can only mute them on and off if there is at least one note or cc etc of material recorded or sequenced on the tracks.
It would be great if I could get back to just selecting tracks coordinated with specific midi channels and having them all active and armed to record, even if they are temporarily empty.
i think this is how it works (given they aren’t doing updates anymore I’m hestitant to call it a bug). I’ve come across this limitation - what I do is I put a note on it, then I do 2nd + note to mute the note. Then I can mute/unmute the track as needed. I do this often when I want to send like ‘just a program control’, like to a delay or something. I think if you don’t add the note, some things like program change will still send, you just don’t get any control over it - and you can’t see them. so yea, might try that - just stick a note, mute it, and go about your day.
