Is there a way to use the pyramid to change variations on the tr8s?

I’m trying to get the pyramid to change the variations on the tr8s (the a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h buttons on the tr8s), is this possible?

I did some googling and looked through the manuals, and there does not seem to be any way to trigger the variations via MIDI.
