Yes, also need Hapax expander for euro.
+1
I use an Expert Sleepers FH-2 as a Hapax expander and something like XP32 for Hapax would be quite fantastic.
I just took delivery and did anyone notice the case for xp32, its perfectly sized for adding 26hp rails to the case and using it as a small side skiff for your system, I’m looking up rails now, might try to convert it for use with some unpowered modules
Looking this but excuse my ignorance. I’ve searched high and low but can’t find a definitive answer so hopefully someone can help.
Does this XP32 expander take over the use of midi tracks? Or does it totally expand on the Hermod + adding all the extra features. I’ll be hitting the buy now button if so but I can’t afford to give away all the 8 midi tracks that have become part of all my most recent musics since the Hermod+ became my main sequencer.
Thanks in advance.
Could the xp32 be used to create some MultiMod style effects? Seems like all the raw materials are there; different clock divisions across several outs, midi effects to shape and offset the timing, as well as incoming params to animate modulations and offsets.
Yes! I sent an official feature request to the site for this!
It’s been a long wait but finally got in my preorder with Elevator sound uk so just waiting excitedly for the XP-32 to hit the uk shores.
I was going to get a Hapax but the XP32 is gonna highly transform the versatility of my Hermod +
I’ve been thinking about the same, will it take over my 8 midi channels. I just got mine today, hook it up, and realized that it does take over the 8 midi channels, in fact, in its default configuration you, if you already have gate/pitch information already there, it immediately shows in the outputs A and B from the associated track (while keeping the previous outs working, so kind of duplicates but cv). In my case for example, I have Hermod+ driving a BitBox Micro, utilizing all 8 sample tracks, so what I basically gain is 2 outputs per track (C,D), and the current (A,B) are outputting signal, like a midi to cv converter. I guess there weren’t many videos explaining this, but I’m afraid it might be too expensive for my setup, as this becomes for me a midi to cv, which I have no need for.
The flexibility, quality and how it expands the Hermod+ capabilities is mind blowing anyway.
I reached out to Squarp and they got back to me right away saying exactly that so. Bought one. Agreed I is absolutely mind blowing but I’m weighing up whether it’s for me or not for the exact reasons as yourself. I’d also thought that it would also be an extension of the mod tracks but it doesn’t quite work like that but having put it to use over a few weeks I’m not sure I’d be able to live without it now. As well as all possible mod and gate options I use for doubling midi and gate to trigger drum machines and drum modules simultaneously and then triggering my led lights set ups in time with the rhythmic components with my sima labs illuminatior.
Pricey? Yes. Doesn’t do some of things I’d hoped but at the same Tim does a whole lot more. Superb expansion.
Awesome that it worked for you, I have it installed, and damn it feels powerful. My system is compact and the way I use the midi channels into the BitBox is key for what I do. I don’t think I have enough use for the duplication in the midi channels to justify the real estate and price, but I do recognize the potential. I’ll probably revisit it further down the road.
