Instrument Definitions + ChatGPT

Has anyone tried this? I am away from the studio but thought I’d ask ChatGPT to write me up an instrument defintion file for the Korg ER-1 and I got this below. The question is, will it work? Obviously when I get home in about 12 hours, I can try but was curious if it would work as it looks rather skimpy compared to some of the other instrument definitions I have.

[common]
model_name=Korg ER-1
manufacturer=Korg

[drum_1]
note_num=36
name=Bass Drum 1
cc_1=16
cc_2=17
cc_3=18

[drum_2]
note_num=38
name=Snare Drum 1
cc_1=19
cc_2=20
cc_3=21

[drum_3]
note_num=42
name=Closed Hi-Hat
cc_1=22
cc_2=23
cc_3=24

[drum_4]
note_num=46
name=Open Hi-Hat
cc_1=25
cc_2=26
cc_3=27

[drum_5]
note_num=50
name=Clap
cc_1=28
cc_2=29
cc_3=30

[drum_6]
note_num=44
name=Pedal Hi-Hat
cc_1=31
cc_2=32
cc_3=33

[drum_7]
note_num=48
name=Crash Cymbal 1
cc_1=34
cc_2=35
cc_3=36

[drum_8]
note_num=49
name=Ride Cymbal 1
cc_1=37
cc_2=38
cc_3=39

Complete nonsense. No need to try.

Yep, I figure this out after hours of trying. Provided examples and all kinds of prompts and while at face it looks like some will work, nothing. Oh well, would have been nice to just zip about. Back to the grind.

I just checked after reading this to verify and yeah, I’ll still wait a while before asking ChatGPT anything important. Screenshot from a chat I just had.
