How to trigger Hapax patterns or sequences from DAWs (I use Protools)

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to figure out how to control Hapax from Pro Tools in this way:

Hapax stays as the master clock and sequencer, keeping internal timing.

From Pro Tools, I want to send MIDI notes via USB to trigger patterns or sequences on Hapax (for example, start a pattern at 0:29 in the Pro Tools timeline, then a variation at 1:29, and so on).

Is it possible to set up MOD tracks on Hapax so they receive these external triggers and start patterns or variations?

What’s the correct workflow to achieve this? Is there any special configuration needed?

I’ve read that MIDI notes can play events inside MOD tracks, but it’s unclear if they can actually start entire patterns or switch them automatically.

Thanks a lot for any help or guidance!

No, it’s not possible with the current firmware.
I suggested a feature about a week ago, because I would also need something similar (thread named ”Pattern triggers”).

Ouch, I thought this would be actually something almost obvious to find on a sequencer of this magnitude. I really hope they will integrate this feature then, we have been discussing this feature with lots of colleagues too, that would make an advantage with people with lots of synths like me, whereas I would take the CPU of my computer out of the equation and live with the peace of mind of external instruments doing the job (hapax).

Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:

And thanks, I’ll check your thread too

Did they say they’ll do it anytime soon or it’s something it’ll probably never happen?

I love the device and that’s why I am baffled that something like this doesn’t exist

i hope this materializes too

+1 here
