I just wanted to let you know that I did investigate this. However, that parameter in the Global Settings seems to apply to all HOLD functions, and not just this particular shortcut per se.
For the record, I don’t have an issue with the default duration of time that constitutes a HOLD vs a PRESS.
I just need a way to turn this “momentary” hold-to-override-global-trig-parameters functionality OFF.
Something like this should 100% be an option. At the very least if not the ability to set it to off, then to swap the hold and 2nd+hold behaviors, so that overriding globals needs the 2nd modifier and holding by itself only shows the current settings.
I also don’t like it, I always get totally confused with this. Like controlling all my levels and cables before understanding that my notes have very low velocity because I edited some notes likes that.
Upon examining this suggestion a little closer, I’m thinking that it might still be a liability: i.e. it could interfere with or complicate other shift functions, like selecting regions of notes, etc.
So, my vote remains for an option to simply turn this shortcut ‘OFF’.
It’s a relatively easy fix, by comparison, and would not otherwise require making a change to the existing core functionality, or risk frustrating the reflexes that other users have already developed around this shortcut.
Does anyone know if the new BETA includes an option to turn OFF this particular pad-hold functionality? I don’t see anything about it in the release notes, but my recent correspondences with Squarp led me to believe that it was in the works.
