I’ve had my Hermod for a few weeks now and I have to agree, the screen is difficult to read even with the reading glasses I normally wear when operating my modular. This wasn’t obvious from watching videos before I bought it. It’s a shame because I’m otherwise enjoying the module (so far). Oh well, if it becomes an issue I will have to sell the module no matter how amazing the feature set is. Hanging a magnifier in front of my modular is just ridiculous IMHO. I’ll try and live with it for now and see how it goes.
I am 56, with an eyesight in the usual state of decay. It has not occured to me that the screen is hard to read. I would not mind a bigger screen, but that should be for showing more info.
Everyone’s different. I have a young friend that can solder TSSOP SMD devices without any magnification whatsoever. Me? not so much.
Connecting to larger display or a companion application for just display readout were my first two thoughts. I love everything else about it, the screen is hard on my eyes. There are plenty of smaller modules with much larger/easier to read displays, so “its modular” is really not an applicable response in my opinion. I agree that its a valid con, one of the only.
Absurd, I am doing this. Thanks.
These pods are handy for sequencers. Same here.
I agree whole heartedly. Would love a PC application (not for editing as that is perfect on the unit) for screen mirroring. Right now I am using the clip-on magnifying glass from my solder kit. Really wish this fantastic device would have some sort of option to make it easier to read. GREAT PRODUCT OTHERWISE!
