Long time hapax user, first time hermod+ user . I have just received my hermod+ and am about to fit it into my arturia rackbrute case. In the Hermod+ manual it says that it is recommended to use 5v rail and that rail should be able to supply minimum 1A. The rackbrute is specced for 900mA. I was wondering/ hoping it would be safe to use this rail? It will be the only module in my case that uses the 5v rail.
So two questions: does anyone use a hermod+ in a rackbrute? And is it safe to use the 5v rail?
Well 1A for Hermod+ is an absolute max rating, given that Hermod will consume 500mA maximum, and up to 1A if a device is plugged into its Host port and consumes an extra 500 mA.
So I’d say it is pretty safe to use the 5V rail in your case. Even if you plan to supply a device (a Keystep for example) with H+.
Now you can safely try and see if any weird behavior occurs. In that case, just flip the switch on the back to use the internal 5V, but I don’t think you’ll destroy anything anyways.
