Hermod+ Ableton / Max For Live device

Hello there !

I wanted to be able to control Ableton parameters using Hermod+ as a CV to MIDI converter, so I created a Max For Live device to make it come true

It’s available here : Hermod CV Inputs Recorder version 1.0 by leifiju on maxforlive.com

The purpose of this custom device is to be able to record modulations as automations that you can edit later for fine tuning, instead of the destination being greyed out like most other alternatives. To do so, you have to disable the device once you’re done recording the inputs.

Here’s how I setup the Hermod+ to make it work :

  • I set up Midi Track 1 with CV A as Input Mod, CV B for Track 2, CV C for Track 3 and CV D for Track 4.
  • For Midi Out of the same tracks, you can choose any channel and CC you want. I personally use Channel 9 and CCs 9 to 12.

I saved a project called ABLETON just for this use.

As most M4L controller devices, you can choose the CC inputs for each of the modulations.

There’s also blank text boxes to let you write the name of source, so you remember what it was.

Let me know if that works ok for you,

Cheers !
