Is it possible to switch on the harmoniser effect automatically on every second bar?
I could think of two ways to do it, but they will both require a little bit of setup.
The first would be via a project LFO and the mod matrix. Set one of the project LFOs to a square wave, with sync on at a rate of 2 bars, and a phase of 180. Assign the project LFO to the harmonizer on/off in the mod matrix. This will activate it every other bar, starting with the second bar. You have to set the phase to 180 because the square wave seems to start high.
The other way would be via an internal MIDI CC with the mod matrix and an automation lane Assign a MIDI CC to harmonizer on/off in the mod matrix - then in an automation lane use that same MIDI CC to set where you want the Harmonizer to turn on/off. Seems like you need a value of at least 64 (which is 50%) to activate the switch. Also turn interpolation off.
Have both working here. The project LFO method is good if you want to activate the harmonizer on every second bar regardless of the actual sequence length. But you’d also be giving up a project LFO. The automation lane method would allow you to be more precise.
Thank you for your solution, I just thought of something: make two tracks from the same instrument and add the harmoniser effect on one track and leave the second bar empty,( the second track without the effect will have the empty bar where the harmonised one has, notes)and since the instrument will only play one bar at a time the audio hopefully wont overlap? Think it could work?
That should work. I use multiple tracks for the same instrument all the time, including using different effects on each. You should be able to get the desired effect if you set it up as you described.
