💿 hapaxOS PUBLIC BETA 2.20 A

Problem is: Hapax is capable of sending the same midi note to different midi ports/channels within the same drum track. How would you translate that?

Hi, we are already working on improving the MIDI DRUM import/export

About the issue reported by @StrunzRockin and and @Joris.Roling about the leds issues, it would be great to know if someone else have the same problem, thanks!

I have the same issue

Good point.

Exporting doesn’t seem that challenging. Each channel/ port combo could be a different track, that way you preserve the note data.

Importing is more complicated, but in this case I assume you have two (or more) drum lanes with the same MIDI note. In this instance maybe you could have an option to map notes to the lanes if duplicates notes are found?

But it would be nice to not have to edit all your drum midi files away from the standard map. Also nice to have the ability to export the midi file and then play them in or from a DAW and get something that makes sense.

Not a huge deal, but would be nice.

Same issue as reported by Joris

Hi all,

A little update on my reported issue of ‘pink pads’:

In the last few days Squarp did let me try a lot of firmwares to pinpoint the issue, and I’m happy to report that in the last batch, all of them passed (no more pink), so I’m sure they will have a fix soon.

Cheers!

I don’t have this issue with the leds. To the contrary: I did a quick test and it seems that the colors are much more consistent over the different pads, where previously some pads would show different colors than others for the same (long) notes.

so lets hope for XP32 support  :star_struck:
(maybe with an additional 2HP USB-bridge, or even better XP16/XP24 with integrated USB )

Any update on the pad colour fix? I get a lot of pink/white pads. Thank you, great stuff with the updates.

Hi everyone,
The new 2.20 beta B has just been released: 💿 hapaxOS PUBLIC BETA 2.20 B
Thanks a lot for your help, all reported issues should have been fixed!

Does anyone have recommendations on some solid standard MIDI drum patterns, free or otherwise?

The freely available drum patterns at this online drum pattern library can be downloaded as MIDI files. I haven’t tested this myself, so I cannot confirm how well it works with the Hapax.

As far as resources that aren’t downloadable MIDI files, my two favorites are:

Pocket Operations (the author has a free PDF version at his website: https://shittyrecording.studio/)
101 Drum Machine Patterns, which is available on Amazon

Awesome, thank you!

Author of Drum Patterns website here. Thanks for sharing link with others:)

Just wanted to chime in and say website also has all the patterns from Pocket Operations (with the blessing of the original author). You can find them over here - Paul Wenze – Drum Patterns
