I inquired from iConnectivity if they could add more reservation slots for mioXL in its firmware, but, unfortunately, they’re limited to the 10 slots the unit currently offers.
Someone at Square is clearly fully into MPE…
For those of us less interested in MPE could I ask Square to consider some of the many excellent UX and interface suggestions that have been made over the years. It feels like core functionality improvements are being sacrificed for MPE functionality that I imagine is only used but a small proportion of users.

they have told me that there are a number of core functionality features on the release schedule. they werent specific about timeline however. i think everyone will be pleased

Let’s hope so. I don’t want to seem grumpy but was just disappointed by v3 so liking forward to the next drop.
you should use the contact us form and let squarp know what your feelings are and get a direct response so you dont stay disgruntled. then come back and tell us what they said. if they will tell me they will tell you. maybe. i dont know. ive been waiting too.
im already keeping hapax until something blows it out of the water. i recently added renoise and redux and hapax just makes them 10 x better just like almost every midi gear. maybe its how im using it. no gear is perfect and squarp has a bottom line to think of, ie making it MPE friendly. i can see the argument that MPE was a smart move. im not mad at hapax, but im on the edge of my seat waiting for what makes it better of course! oh and i have no use for mpe myself, although i will use the many new busses, maybe.

The way I see this, 3.0 was fulfilling some of the original promises made for the Hapax since the original launch video.
Being MPE Compatible was one of the main selling points they highlighted, but until 3.0 this was an incredibly restrictive, barebones implementation. Without the zone configuration, Hapax was only truly compatible with extremely limited synths with the most basic implementation of MPE lower zone and at least 13 voices, otherwise there would be issues even accurately playing back recorded MPE.
Even if a proportion of users don’t care for the MPE stuff, I am glad that they fulfilled one of the big missing promised features. This is important to maintain goodwill with early adopters.

i didnt know that, i didnt buy based on mpe but yes its a good sign and hopefully satisfied the mpe users
MPE implementation, plus the virtual MIDI channels on USB device/host ports, had me.
The day you start playing with MPE controllers and MPE synths (hardware or software), these implementations are gold, although I get this is still looked at as a niche thing.
I bought it when it was in beta, before 3.00, knowing they were going to upgrade these key features so I can have more flexibility with ROLI and ERAE2 controllers and various MPE targets.
I hope they will go on addressing the other popular feature requests (such as more drumlanes, accumulators etc. 
)
