top work lads!
If anyone else having a pad responsiveness issue, or possibly a timing issue, with this OS version?
If i go into Live mode and tap out a drum patter, going to my TR8-S, I some taps don’t register, double hit, are significantly delayed, or generate a tap at a different velocity.
I was worried it was a hardware issue, so I rolled back my OS to one from early last year - and suddenly my taps were accurate again. So I installed 2.12 - they are fine on that too. However, I can’t open the projects I recently saved in 2.13, so I’ve had to install 2.13 again. And lo and behold - the unreliable taps are back!
Programmed drum parts seem fine when I run the sequencer, so this doesn’t appear to be an issue with the unit’s MIDI output in general, just the pad input.
I’ll test input from an external MIDI keyboard next. Edit: I’m not able to do this, because for Channel 10, the Hapax doesn’t send incoming MIDI notes out (the MIDI monitor confirms this).
I think the pads might be less responsive than usual when triggering patterns in pattern mode too, but I’m less sure about that because it’s less obvious than jittery drum tapping!
Might be a midi feedback loop
You know what, I think you’re right!
I changed my MIDI setup recently. If I pull out the extraneous lead, the pads seem to be responsive again.
I don’t understand why going back to an earlier OS version would fix this; maybe the MIDI settings changed back and forth when I loaded different versions?
But anyway, I think this has fixed it, so thanks Maarten.
Sorry, folks, for the false alarm.
