Hapax USB device port runs at only 12 Mb/s

When connecting a MacBook Pro M2 to the USB device port on the Hapax, the Mac says that the speed is only 12 Mb/s. (The Mac reports its USB ports as USB 3.1.) Is the USB device port on Hapax only USB 1.1 protocol?

I’ve tried two different cables, including a brand new USB-C to USB-B 2.0 cable. The specs for the new cable include 480 Mb/s speed, with downward compatibility with older USB formats.

Is there a setting that needs be adjusted to get the higher speed?

What do you need higher transfer rates for?

In the absence of a spec that I could find, I associated the USB-B port with USB 2.0 specs. Looks like that was a mistake.

I’m new to the Hapax and hardware sequencers in general. I’ve just had the sequencer for two days, getting to know it.

I don’t know if this might have to do with the spec for class compliant USB MIDI, but maybe it’s just that there’d be no point for the Hapax to be able to negotiate higher transfer speeds than the amount of MIDI data it could actually handle in practice (MIDI DIN runs at ~32 Kb/s, by comparison.)

Correct, 12Mbps is plenty enough
