Hapax midi outs

Hi there,

So the manual says that the Hapax can do 96 midi out channels.

I have a Digitakt 2, Digitone 2, Syntakt and a GR-1 and I want a sequencer that can seamlessly sequence all 45 channels, i don’t think that I would ever use al 45 at the same time, but by having all set I can sequence any channel with ease. I know I could just use the Digis sequencer (and they work just fine) but instead of sequencing the 3 independently It would be easier to use all 3 as just one giant instrument.

So, can it do that? also each track of the 16 handles one midi channel or it can do more?

Thanks

yeah it does that but only 32 channels can have active sequences at once. each can have a midi rerout fx duplicating its output to another channel so technically 64 channels at once, driven by 32 active sequences. you can open new projects that contain different channel assignments but you have to close another project.

Thanks for the response dude.

32 active sequence is more than enough, I don’t think that I’ll ever need more.

But the question is, is it possible to save the midi mapping as a template or something like that? In order to have assigned the 45 midi channels and just select out of those 45, 32 to work with for sequencing so it just seamless. So for example I want to use track 1,4,8,10 of the DT2 and tracks 1,2,3,4 of the DT2 and then tracks 9,10,11,12 of the SY, but for the next project another combination of tracks like all 16 tracks of the DT2, etc. But in a way that I don’t have to set up every midi channel again just selecting which one I want to use for each hapax track.

well yeah you can save anything you want

Awesome, then I think I’ll go for it. And have a more seamless workflow in order to spend less time setting up and more time making music.

come to think of it, you can have up to 7 midi reroute fx on every track. do you want 7 copies of the same sequence going to separate channels? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
