Hi everyone, I noticed that a few of you are using FH-2 and expanders to modulate your Eurorack systems via Hapax automation lanes, which was the main reason why I got mine.
I’m using the Web UI to configure the FH-2, and was able to successfully send al drum gates to my several drum voices. But I’m getting really inconsistent and extreme CV values when trying to use the FH-2 (and the 8CV expander) to convert hapax’s automation lanes into CV. I’ve tried with different ppq rates, with and without interpolation, different MIDI channel, different CCs, and with several different modules and several different voltage ranges, but keep getting the same weird results.
As an example, on the Hapax I’ve created an automation lane for cc14, transmitted via USB device on channel 10, and am sending it to Output 8 of the FH-2 (ch10, cc14) with a -5+5v range.
But when I set the default automation value on the Hapax, the range of 0-127 cc values makes the voltages on the FH-2 output jump from extremely negative to neutral to extremely positive, without any middle values, and this will change several times across the 0-127 cc values range. For example: 0 to 34 is extremely negative; 35 is moderately negative; 36 is neutral; 37 to 70 extremely positive, 71 is neutral again; 72-85 is extremely negative again; and 86-127 extremely positive again. And even these values are not consistent, as they change when I try to get back to them again.
Has anyone experienced something like this? Any idea what I’m doing wrong here? Thanks for your help!
