The Prophet 08 and Rev-2 have a useful sequencing feature with the gate sequencer where each step is progressed to the next by key press. This allows the creation of set parameters for each note. I’ve made something similar on the Hapax using stepped automation curves. I’m pleased how easy it is to do.
It would be great to be able to convert an automation curve into a User LFO effect curve. Rather than being free running or synced it could reset on key press or even go further and have something like the Rev-2 gated sequencer.
This is the first piece of new gear I am genuinely excited about getting. It has taken me a day or two to get going with it but it really is amazing. Apologies if the above features have already been implemented.
Is there an option for Sequential-style modulation gated sequencing though?
I can retrigger an LFO but what is triggered is a choice of standard LFO shapes–sine, random, etc.–and not a sequence.
I can also program Automation without notes. This is closer to the Sequential concept of a gated modulation sequencer. But it’s still starting on with the start of the Pattern. A gated sequence would start that Automation Pattern with the trigger of a note, which I don’t think is possible?
it sounds complex for a sequencer… this is more likely something you will find in a plugin. or a higher end synth. it does sound intriguing. maybe squarp would like the idea. im all for fresh midi fx!
