I would love if the Hapax had a midi effect that was similar to the Roland/Boss slicer effect, that rhythmically chops pads or sustained notes. Like a trance gate effect.
I have a Roland MX-1 and it has a slicer feature which I love for live performances, but I do not use it for recording. I’ve experimented a bit automation, but that can be kind of cumbersome for longer patterns.
It would be really midi effect for the hapax. Especially if could generate different rhythms.
EDIT: I just saw in another topic where to send for feature request. So I did submit that now.

automate volume with a cc using a dedicated track

This.
A lot of gear responds to midi cc 7 for volume.
The nice thing about using automation is that you can exactly draw the curves. However, it does force you to draw this automation for the whole length of the pattern, which is cumbersome. You can copy and paste automation though.
It would be nice if they will allow automation to have a different length than the whole pattern, so it will loop automation over the whole pattern. That would allow you to draw the curves of a short section only and it will keep repeating it, no matter how long your pattern will be.
Or custom curves for the LFO effect, would be another way to achieve the same results, would be great if they will add that in the future.
if you use a separate track for the automation you can do this. also you can tweak the curve shape with the shaper fx. might not be exactly what you want but maybe?
