It would be nice to have a live recording mode sort of in between the Overdub and Hard Rec modes, where it Overwrites only when new notes are played in, otherwise leaving the notes in the sequence unchanged.

So basically “additive” recording right? So we could build up a chord by recording one note during each pattern repeat. If we play the same note that has already been recorded, it will:
- be deleted and overwritten by the new one if we play the new note before the already recorded note starts
- be shortened and new note will be added after it if we play the new note after the already recorded note starts

Yes exactly. Essentially a mode where hard record is on standby and only engages recording/overwriting when a new note is played in. Would be super helpful for my workflow as I always live record notes and basically never input notes on the step view.
