At the moment there is no way to easily double an existing sequence. What you can do is
- Add an empty bar
- Extend a sequence with another bar of what’s already there
- Warp a selection a bit at a time
What you can’t do is take a 16 step long sequence of 16th notes and make it a 32 step long sequence of 8th notes. Or do the reverse. This would be a very useful feature when making compositions.
I am thinking this could be done with 2nd + up (expand) and 2nd + down (contract) which currently don’t do anything (to my knowledge). Alternatively, you could replace the zoom in/ out feature (maybe as a setting like with warp/ shift), which I personally do not find useful at all.
The Warp feature does not get you there. Though arguably it does something way more complicated than what I am proposing. To expand the way I am proposing with warp you have to
- Add a blank bar (2nd + right)
- Select all
- Press 2nd and + 16 times
And even then, it doesn’t actually get there. When I try and warp a simple sequence with a note on the 1, 5, 9 and 13 I can not get them to land on the 1, 9, 17 and 25. The one thats meant to land on the 17 always lands on the 16, or if you get it on the 17, the 9 lands on the 10.
I really do think this would be a useful feature, and do hope that there will be more Hapax firmware updates. It’s an awesome sequencer!!
