Effects to assign probability to cc automation

I was wondering if anyone has a technique using a combination of effects to be able to set a probability that some CC message gets sent. I have a step in my sequence where I’d like to assign some probability for whether a CC param goes high. Could be nice to be able to set a range too. Can’t really figure out a way, but maybe I’ missing something?

you could add an lfo set to sample and hold and set to note on retrigger with the range and offset you desire, set to modulate whatever target cc you want.

if you only want a certain note to be effected, set a filter ahead of it. if your sequence is only one note value and you want only one of them singled out for fx use more than one track.

there may be another way to do this and i could be mistaken since i dont do this sort of thing.

but i think you might be asking how to assign probability to whether the random cc value gets sent or not. this im not sure how you would do.

yea exactly…

could be cool if the Chance effect could be used for automation lanes rather than notes…

actually i think you can modulate the mute state of an fx so theres your answer

to restrict this to a certain note, use a modulation lane that toggles the mute state of lfo 1 which then toggles by chance the mute state of the second lfo that actually sends the cc at the range and offset desired. voila! a chance driven cc on a particular note in your sequence, with range and offset
