Sorry, for the probably dumb question, but…
When making a definition file, do I include the grey text that I am seeing in the examples, in the actual txt file?
Or just the parts that are in black text?

Basically that’s up to you. Lines starting with a # are interpreted as comments (=ignored) by Hapax, possibly useful as inline documentation for yourself and others. I’d suggest leave them in.
