Howdy, hope you are all doing great. I’ve got an odd intermittent issue with dropped notes.
Firware 2.13
Drums are spread across trks 1-8, Kick, Clap, OPHH, CLHH etc. Very standard 4 on the floor beat, triggering samples in Disting NT. Sequence will run fine for a little while, then kick (tk 1) will start dropping out. Mostly around times when kicks are on 16ths back to back…but not always..
I’ve played the sequence midi back from logic into the NT, no issues that way round.
I’ve looked a couple of midi monitors, everything looks like its doing note on/off correctly.
Just tried changing the note length setting for the kick track from 1/16 to 1/4. That seems to have solved it for the time being?
Could be I’ve lost my banana, Ive got a brand new set up so lots of things to chase…this issue seems to have cropped up more since going to 2.13.
Cheers, have a good one.
Craig
Hi,
I’ll look into this ASAP, USB compatibility issues are currently being worked on.
Thanks! I should have said, all Hapax midi was out 5pin midi port A.
Lengthy jam on the same track tonight, no drop outs - so changing note length was the solve.
All other tracks note events are set to 1/16, eg track 4 being a typical disco hats pattern and track 5 a shaker on all 16th’s.
Just want to say the Hapax is amazing, just noodling with a pad sound moving from chord to scale in live…generated some cool AF musical ideas I’d never consider previously, thats super cool, thank you.
Cheers
Craig.
Thanks for the kind words!
So the dropouts occurred while connected with plain old DIN/jack ?
I initially thought the NT only did USB, but I just saw there is a breakout module, were you using this breakout ?
You are welcome!
Hapax is running at max of 23% NT at 42%
Normal midi flow is:
Hapax 5 pin midi Port A > Manik 8 midi > Tiny Midi Breakout > NT.
Tested Hapax Port A > TMB > NT. Same issue - (so not the Manik)
Tested Midi pattern from Logic > TMB > NT, same issue.
Changed per step note length for Track 1 from 1/16 to 1/4. Resolved.
Doesn’t completely rule out it being an NT issue, and I should run the tests again to confirm its all repeatable.
Thanks
Craig
