So I started doing this before I realized there was a dust cover in the box. I don’t know why I put it aside? Probably just too excited.
This is still useful for transport to protect the encoders in a bag or case. I’ve had problems with the main encoder of the mpc being weird after being compressed in a bag. These are just sheets of craft foam from Michael’s. Technically it was more than $6 since I got a set of model clay cutters with a circle the right size.
The funny thing is, since I forgot about the dust cover, I had to awkwardly line up all of my holes with the knobs. This would have been super easy using the dust cover as a template. As it is, it was easier cutting the sheets down to size using the dust cover as a guide.
wait theres a dustcover in the box? I splurged on a decksaver for mine but don’t remember seeing a dust cover, or maybe I didn’t realize what I was looking at or thought it was packaging.
I definitely did the same thing. Maybe my brain registered a flimsier piece of foam? Fortunately I don’t get rid of boxes for expensive gear and it was right there.
theres a nice aluminium data knob on amazon which fits perfectly and with the decksaver. decksaver is worth the dosh. 1200 clams for a sequencer and 48 more for a hard shell that will keep it looking much better and maybe avoid a disaster… 48 clams is in the budget. i just wish they made covers for korg emx/exs 1. i guess you know your product has made it when theres a decksaver, hapax makes the cut for sure! ive never met a tabletop sequencer i liked more in fact.
